CONGRESS.MEDAL OF HONOUR RECIP.

At the outbreak of the American Civil War, St. Clair Augustin Mulholland was a lieutenant colonel of an infantry unit attached to Thomas Francis Meagher’s Irish Brigade. Wounded at the Battle of Fredericksburg. he was brevetted brigadier general on March 13th, 1865 for gallantry at Chancellorsville, a role for which he was also awarded the Congressional Medal of Honour.
