UNION GEN. US CIVIL WAR

Kinnegad native Richard Henry Jackson served as a lieutenant colonel in the United States Army at the Siege of Charleston. Later achieving the rank of major general, he continued his service in the army before his death on November 28th, 1892. He is buried in the United States Military Academy Post Cemetery, Westpoint, Orange County, New York.
