Phil Lynott

SINGER & GUITARIST

Together with Brian Downey, Eric Bell and Eric Wrixon, Phil Lynott formed the band ‘Thin Lizzy’ in the early 1970s before going on to tour with acts such as Bob Seger, Bachman-Turner Overdrive and Queen. Falling into the musical gap between heavy metal and pop, the band added some Celtic flavour to its repertoire with ‘Whiskey in the Jar’, which was a top ten hit in 1973, and remains their best remembered record. Other hits include hits ‘The Boys are back in Town’, ‘Jailbreak' and ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’.
