Peter Lacy

RUSSIAN FIELD-MARSHAL

Following the loss of his relatives whilst fighting for Louis XIV, Peter Lacy served with the Austrian army for two years before joining the Russian army where the Czar, Peter the Great, placed him in command of a company of Grand Musketeers. As the head of thirty thousand men, he entered Poland in 1733 to establish Augustus of Saxony to the throne and his triumphant entry to Warsaw resulted in him being created a field-marshal.
