Peter Fenelon Collier

Having worked for P.J. Kennedy, a United States based publisher of Catholic books, Peter Fenelon Collier established his own subscription service, the first company ever to do so, and in 1888, founded a family magazine, ‘Collier’s Weekly’. Between 1900 and 1910, the company sold over thirty million books, and Collier became known as the ‘father of the modern subscription book business’.
