BATTLE OF BRITAIN PILOT

Kenneth MacKenzie joined the Royal Air Force as an airman pilot in 1939 and during the Battle of Britain, destroyed at least seven enemy fighters, going so far as to ram an aircraft after running out of ammunition. Later in his career, he was captured by the Germans and was incarcerated at Stalag Luft III, where over a considerable length of time, he feigned madness which eventually led to his repatriation to England in October, 1944.
