As a young boy, Strabane born John Dunlap emigrated to the United States where he later founded the Philadelphia Packet, the first daily newspaper in the United States. With the wording of the Declaration of Independence being agreed on July 4th, 1776, that same evening Dunlap printed two hundred copies of the historical document.
