Gordon Wilson

PEACE CAMPAIGNER

It was the Enniskillen Rememberance Day Bombing, carried out by the Provisional IRA in 1987, that demonstrated Gordon Wilson’s strong Christian faith as he held his daughter, Marie, as she lay dying after the atrocity. In a television interview broadcast on BBC on the evening of his daughter’s death he declared, “I will pray for these men tonight, and every night, I bear no ill will, I bear no grudge.”
